This is the first public release of opC++. Here is what is included in this build, depending on your distribution:

Windows

  • opC++ Standard Dialect
  • Doxygen API reference
  • Css style sheets for xml visualization
  • Visual Studio addin
  • Benchmarks referenced on this site
  • Example projects

Linux

  • opC++ Compiler

  • Default project with makefile
  • README, INSTALL, and LICENSE files

As of this build, the following back-end C++ compilers have been successfully tested:

  • Visual C++ (v. 2003, 2005)
  • GNU G++ (v. 3.4, 4.0, 4.1)
  • Intel C++ (v. 10.0.023)

Newer versions of these compilers will most likely work without any problems, and will be tested soon.

This beta will lock itself down as of February 1, 2008.

Terms

The preview version will be released under a evaluation use agreement.

This simply means you can use this beta to evaluate the technology as well as test it. The only restriction is that you cannot use the code generated using the beta compiler in a commercial product.

Future evaluation versions will have similar restrictions - of course you'll be able to purchase a version without these restrictions when the final version is released.

This beta version also generates some comments you won't want to redistribute:

  • A large ascii opC++ logo.
  • A watermark "built with opC++ evaluation" string embedded in the executable output.
  • Large random classes and typedefs.
